NEW YORK, September 14, 2020 - The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) announced Gabriela Hearst as the winner of the 2020 CFDA Award for Womenswear Designer of the Year. The 2020 CFDA Fashion Award winners were announced by Chairman Tom Ford on the digital platform RUNWAY360.
The annual event recognizes the outstanding contributions made to American fashion by individuals from all areas of the industry and related arts; the Womenswear Designer of the Year award is given for design excellence in womenswear.
Gabriela was nominated in 2018 for Womenswear Designer of the Year and 2017 for The Swarovski Award for Emerging Talent. This is Gabriela's third nomination at the CFDA Fashion Awards.
