The Inspiration Behind Our Fine Jewelry

"I always loved jewelry since I was a little girl. My Aunt Carina who collected a few pieces, would show them to me when I came to visit. It was a ceremony she would take pieces out and we would look at how they were made. I have been told I should design jewelry but it wasn’t until I saw in Museo Prado the painting from Quinten Massys (1465/66-1530) 'Christ presented to the People' that I realized that was the type of jewelry I wanted to make. More masculine and simple but of pure 18k gold and without precious stones. I wanted to use wood, howlite (as it resembles marble but is more malleable) malachite, lapis lazuli, tiger eye, opals, rose quartz and pink marble. All made by hand to last." - Gabriela
