GABRIELA HEARST INTRODUCES THE HOUSE'S FIRST LINE OF 100% RECYCLED COTTON DENIM

Gabriela Hearst launches its first line of 100% recycled cotton denim. Available in cobalt blue, golden birch, antelope orange, burnt sienna and white, these shades were inspired by a series of pigments gifted to Gabriela by her friend, the filmmaker Clara Cullen, that are used for Spanish traditional housepaints. The offer is rounded out by a recycled cotton indigo in a medium-wash for a more classical denim shade named Uruguayan blue after Gabriela’s homeland.

The assortment features 100% recycled cotton denim, a fabric that starts as either a natural indigo or a white that is then garment-dyed in the season's colors. The dying process, where the pieces are hand-treated with an ecological wash, uses significantly less electricity than the normal industrial manufacture of denim. The water use is circular, as it is filtered and reused throughout the different stages of creating the material.

The styles all offer a lightweight feel with a structured look and 5-pocket construction. The silhouettes include the cropped Ezra bootcut jean, the Rey straight-leg jean and the Willa long bootcut jean, all of which feature custom wood-inlaid brass buttons at the waist that can be removed for machine-washing.

The recycled cotton denim launches July 2025 and is available at our New York, Beverly Hills, London and Tokyo stores and gabrielahearst.com
