This South African lambskin shearling is the ultimate luxurious combination of exceptionally soft, supple lamb leather (Ovis aries) with its natural wool fleece left intact, providing a luxurious warmth and gentle feel.

Sourcing

This Turkish tannery has been in business for over 40 years of traditional leather working. They are committed to responsible leather production by processing water through a centralized wastewater treatment facility dedicated to the leather industry. All hides are sourced exclusively as by-products of the food industry. The tannery maintains a strict Code of Conduct prohibiting child and forced labor, promotes safe working conditions, and is dedicated to reducing its environmental impact through responsible water, energy, and waste management. They are part of The Leather Working Group (Silver certified) and are certified by the following standards:

Craftsmanship

This family-owned Italian factory has been operated by 3 brothers since 1989. They produce luxury leather products and carefully select tanneries to ensure highest quality. With value for craftsmanship and community, they offer an apprentice program for workers aged 18-27; the program improves their workforce, creates economic opportunity, and preserves craft expertise.

In March 2020, the factory installed solar panels and moved its operations closer to a wastewater recycling facility.
