Suede is a soft leather that is split from the underside of the hide, creating a velvety napped finish. While its characteristics depend on the type of animal, the tanning process and thickness, most suede is quite pliable.

This shoe was made by a family-owned factory located in Venice, Italy. They are audited by Kering and adhere to all applicable standards. Within the factory they comply with an internal ethics & social responsibility code as well as a safety management system (SGSSL).

Located in Turin, Italy, this tannery works primarily with gold-rated Leather Working Group hides and has their own efforts in place to obtain the LWG certification. Whenever possible, outdoor drying and rain water collection are implemented in order to reduce energy consumption.
