The Hybris Bag is hand macramé by artisans in India. The cashmere silk yarn is hand knotted, using macramé stitches, in a diagonal, multicolored, striped mesh finished with a wrapped leather handle. Mélange, loop and degrade effects are featured on large shoulder bags and sumptuous frame clutches.

    This garment was made by a family-owned factory committed to fashion waste reduction and upcycling within their community of Mumbai, India.

    Silk is known for its luxurious drape, luster and ability to take rich color. It is the strongest natural fiber and has low density, creating light and comfortable fabric. Silk’s resilient elasticity maintains garment shape, and its smooth surface is resistant to attracting dirt. Silk keeps you cool in warm weather, and provides insulating warmth in cool weather.

Fabric

Genuine nappa is a chrome-tanned leather known for its distinctly smooth and supple softness. It is named after its origins in Napa Valley, California, where its tanning process was first developed in 1875. Like other full-grain leathers, its natural texture and marks show on the surface; for this reason, only better quality hides are used.

Mill

This tannery based in the UK offers C02 neutral, chrome-free skins (such as Original) without sacrificing quality. They also practice regenerative farming, a method of rotating specific crops and cattle to build up soil levels, fix carbon, restore biodiversity and reduce the amount of artificial chemicals / fertilizers required in farming. Zoelitic - or biodegradeable tannages are also being tested for further improving sustainability techniques.
