This article is made of real cork. Cork is a sustainably produced natural product. Cork oak is unique in its ability to regenerate its outer bark. After a tree reaches 25 years of age it can be stripped of its cork once every 9 to 12 years without causing damage to the tree. A single cork oak, which lives up to 20 years, can be harvested over 16 times. Any difference in color and grain that are seen on the surface are features of the material itself. Care must be taken as contact with hairspray, perfume and any other product containing alcohol or alchohol-based products may damage the material permanently.
