Sardis Platform Sandal in Black Nappa Leather

This strappy sandal with adjustable buckle closure is set on natural cork wedge heels. Cork is a signature material used on Gabriela Hearst's Footwear collection. It is a low impact material as you don't kill the tree but shave the trunk instead. The sandals are made in premium Italian calf leather in natural colors or a rich gold color, inspired by Gabriela Hearst's collection.

Details:

  • Upper: 100% Nappa lamb leather (OVIS ARIES ARIES farmed in Spain)

Cork is a sustainably produced natural product. Cork oak is unique in its ability to regenerate its outer bark. After a tree reaches 25 years of age it can be stripped of its cork once every 9 to 12 years without causing damage to the tree. A single cork oak, which lives up to 200 years, can be harvested over 16 times. Any difference in color and grain that are seen on the surface are features of the material itself. Cork is a natural material; please wear with care and avoid contact with hairspray, perfume and any other product containing alcohol or alchohol-based products may damage the material permanently.

Genuine Nappa is a chrome-tanned leather known for its distinctly smooth and supple softness. It is named after its origins in Napa Valley, California, where its tanning process was first developed in 1875. Like other full-grain leathers, its natural texture and marks show on the surface; for this reason, only better-quality hides are used.
