In addition to virgin fibers, they also produce yarns from recycled cashmere that comes from post-consumer clothing. For their recycled options, they are certified to use the Cardato Recycled Brand trademark. This means that they use at least 65% post-consumer materials and conduct all processes in Prato, Italy. To use the trademark, they must also report metrics on energy use, water consumption and CO2 emissions. The mill complies with the following standards: Global Recycled Standard (GRS) - only for their recycled product lines Recycle Claim Standard (RCS) - only for their recycled product lines.
This garment was produced at a family-owned factory in China. The factory complies with all local labor and safety regulations.
Cashmere is one of the most luxurious wools, with desirable drape, softness and wrinkle resistance. It is up to three times more insulating than regular wool, with lofty fibers that can be tightly knit into warm and lightweight fabric. Like all wool, it wicks moisture and allows skin to breathe. Cashmere is considered hypoallergenic, since it doesn’t have lanolin. While more delicate than other wool, cashmere garments will not lose their shape if properly cared for. This is due to the fiber’s natural stretch that allows garment to move with you and recover.
Recycled cashmere retains excellent quality while also repurposing otherwise compromised goods. Properties of cashmere are luxurious and durable, with the ability to maintain its luxurious nature in regeneration.
