Silk
Silk is the through-line of the Gabriela Hearst house: a fiber that holds shape, catches light, and rewards the kind of cutting that takes decades to learn. This Uruguayan-inspired collection brings together dresses blouses, tank tops, and pants made from sustainable luxury silks woven for weight and hand rather than gloss alone.
The assortment moves across long fluid silk dresses sit alongside fine silk tanks, and silk trousers that round out the collection for women building a complete look in one luxurious fibre.
A silk slip reads as a dress on its own and as a base layer under a tailored blazer; a fringed satin dress holds its own without ornament. Each silk style is produced in limited quantities through Italian and Uruguayan ateliers. Fibers are selected for ply, twist, and finish, with constructions favoring French seams, hand-finished hems, and self-fabric bindings over fused trims. Sustainability is kept specific: named mills, deadstock and traceable silk where used, and women-led cooperative production throughout.
