The Lauren Knit Wrap in Dip Dye Sunrise is hand-knitted by Manos del Uruguay, the Fair Trade women's cooperative founded in 1968 to bring paid work to rural artisans across Uruguay. Each wrap is shaped in 100% Welfat cashmere and finished with a gradient of botanical dyes moving from warm coral into golden amber, recalling a sunrise over Paysandú.

The Welfat cashmere yarn comes from a mill founded in 1928 that owns its full production cycle and holds Sustainable Fiber Alliance certification, alongside Masters of Linen and CELC memberships. The yarn gives the wrap the loft, drape, and wrinkle resistance that define good cashmere knitwear, finished by hand with a fringe detail along both ends.

Sized generously at 78 inches across the base and 44 inches along the sides, the wrap works as a shoulder layer, a long evening shawl, or a throw across a chair or bed. Welfat cashmere is up to three times more insulating than standard wool while staying lightweight, moisture-wicking, and hypoallergenic.

Provenance: Manos del Uruguay is a non-profit cooperative founded by five women in 1968 to give rural Uruguayan artisans a way to earn income near their families rather than relocating to the city. Every Lauren Wrap is hand-knitted within this cooperative and carries the signature of the artisan who made it.
