Gabriela Hearst introduces new hand crocheted Nina and Demi bags made in collaboration with Madres y Artesanas in Bolivia.
On April 21st 2022, Gabriela Hearst introduces her new hand crocheted Nina and Demi bags. The collection will include four different crochet patterns inspired from a sketch by Gabriela, in four different colorways called Fire, Neutral, Phoenix, and Mineral.
Gabriela Hearst and Madres Y Artesanas Tex started their collaboration for the Spring 21 collection.
The limited-edition bags are available exclusively at Gabriela Hearst flagship stores—985 Madison Avenue New York and 59 Brook Street, Mayfair, London; Harrods 87–135 Brompton Road, Knightsbridge, London, and online at gabrielahearst.com by inquiry.

ABOUT THE NINA AND THE DEMI BAGS
The Nina Bag is the original handbag in the Gabriela Hearst collection, named after artist and activist Nina Simone. A structured top handle with a distinctive round pouch that gently unfolds from a turn lock closure. The Demi Bag is the smaller version of the Nina Bag.

It is an organization composed of mini businesses administered by and made up of women dedicated to the production of high-quality handmade fabrics. Each of these self-administered businesses can count on a guaranteed market thanks to the commercial administration provided by Yelka Maric, the organization’s administrator, and principal entrepreneur. Madres & Artesanas Tex has specialized in handmade production methods such as macramé, crochet, and other varied knitting styles. This involves mini businesses that employ up to 200 craftswomen during the high season. Each mini business is led by a businesswoman who guides, teaches and supervises all the processes used in producing the assigned articles.
