Gabriela Hearst’s knit skirts are made from traceable fibres including virgin wool and cashmere, selected for their weight, recovery and ability to hold their shape. Fitted midi styles are shaped through the hip with ribbed and jacquard constructions, while a knit maxi skirt falls into a long, clean column. Cable, bouclé and open-weave knits add texture and pattern without making the fabric feel heavy.

Uruguayan textile traditions inform the way the knitwear is made, with pieces produced through artisan cooperatives where expertise in fibre preparation and hand-finishing is passed down through generations. Fine wool and cashmere give the skirts a soft hand while retaining enough structure to hold their shape.

Production is kept limited, allowing close attention to finishing on each knit skirt. A fine wool knit maxi skirt works with a structured wool blazer, while a fitted knit midi skirt can be paired with tailored blouse and a structured top handle bag.
